Former Mayor Joel Daves' bungalow is set to move in October
Related Ross is paying $3 million to move two houses off the same downtown block in October, Stet News reported Sept. 29. One is the 1,030-square-foot, early-1900s bungalow where former Mayor Joel Daves lived.
The bungalow is headed from 610 Evernia Street to 900 Sixth St., where it is to be converted into housing. Both homes are slated to be fixed up and sold as affordable housing.
The property they leave is planned as a parking lot for five years, and eventually something bigger.
The house has a long price trail. Daves paid $26,000 for it in the 1970s, and Stephen Ross' company paid him $2.85 million for it in 2006.
North Flagler waterfront home asking $26.5M finds a buyer
John Rost, founder of Fiesta Auto Insurance and Tax Services, has a buyer for his house at 3400 North Flagler Drive, The Real Deal reported Sept. 30. It's a contract, and the figure is the asking price: $26.5 million, the county's priciest new contract that week.
Called Palazzo del Nord, the house runs 9,600 square feet with seven bedrooms, six bathrooms and two half-baths, plus about 150 feet of Intracoastal frontage. It was completed in 2010 and renovated in 2023, and the ask works out to about $2,700 a square foot.
Rost paid $9.3 million for it in 2021. The ask is nearly three times what he paid.
Avenue Pottery's wheel and 2,000-degree kilns
Avenue Pottery in West Palm Beach is run by owner and instructor Lonnie. In a feature WPTV published Oct. 1, Lonnie put WPTV's Walter Kelley at the wheel for his first try, and he shaped a mug.
Glaze is what seals a piece and makes it waterproof, and the shop's kilns can reach around 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit. Lonnie's pitch: pottery could become a new hobby.
